DSAI Constitutional Document - Discussions

Proposed New Constitution

Dear colleagues,
In response to Ronnie´s call for feedback and suggestions on the DSAI constitution and governance document, I attach a proposed constitution for the DSAI (instead of the two separate documents that currently exist). I am very interested in this topic as I guess is evident in my enthusiasm in writing a full document :) No doubt the ideas will generate debate and I look forward to your comments via this email address (users@dsaireland.org) or on the DSAI Net where the docs and comments will be posted.

FYI and to facilitate discussion I am posting Ronnie's recent email on the need for constitution and governance review which he sent around via the open email list (users@dsaireland.org). See also Jacinta´s comments on this issue in an earlier discussion.

My understanding of a constitutional document is that it should reflect the organization’s core values and underlying composition. It appears to me that this document is a mix of a “constitution” and an “annual report” for the organization. Whereas I would see the two documents as distinct from each other.
