The role of civil society in the emancipation of women: challenging or supporting the status quo?
The Affinity Group for Gender, a working group established by the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR) has been approached by Springer Publishing House to edit a book exploring the connections between civil society organisations (CSOs) and women’s emancipation. This is a really exciting opportunity and we invite you to submit a proposal describing your research, for consideration.
A group to connect scholars / practitioners in Maynooth
I can't say this is a 'mission statement', as such, but my initial sense of things is that there is scope to use this site as a way to connect scholars / practitioners working in Maynooth.
In the short-term, perhaps we could use this site to discuss the possibiity of coordinating on-campus actions (e.g. seminars, workshops, visiting speakers, films, etc.).
In the medium- to long-term, I suggest such a group could cement existing ties and create new ones with a view to actually coordinating such actions.
