Opportunity: Trócaire seeks Humanitarian Protection Advisor (Psychosocial Support)

Trócaire are hiring a Humanitarian Protection Advisor (Psychosocial support).

Humanitarian response, including a commitment to Humanitarian Protection as a niche area, is a cornerstone of Trócaire’s 2016-2020 Strategic Plan. This niche in protection focuses on strengthening organisational approaches in the areas of Protection Mainstreaming and Protection of Women and Girls in emergencies.

This position as a technical advisor will have a high profile in:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of integrated and/or standalone protection interventions in Trócaire’s humanitarian programmes, with a particular focus on Psychosocial Support (PSS) interventions in partnership with local actors, in close coordination with the Humanitarian Protection Advisor (Gender).
  • Coordinating and supporting the ongoing development and roll out of Trócaire’s Protection Mainstreaming approach with staff and partners across all humanitarian programmes, advising on the comprehensive application of protection mainstreaming principles at all stages in the programme cycle.
  • Supporting the achievement of relevant internal and external quality and accountability standards in humanitarian programmes.
  • Contributing to improved learning organisationally, and supporting the enhancement of staff and partner competencies in protection and accountability.

Reporting to Humanitarian Programme Manager – Technical, this is a Permanent contractand is based in Trócaire Headquarters or another Trócaire Country Office, with travel of up to four months a year.
