The 2023 Development Matters lecture series, supported by Irish Aid, is taking place on Wednesday 24 May 2023 at 1.00p.m. at the IIEA, on 8 North Great Georges Street, Dublin 1. For the inaugural address of the 2023 series, Minister of State for International Development and the Diaspora, Seán Fleming, T.D. will discuss Ireland’s Development Cooperation Priorities in 2023 and a renewed commitment to Agenda 2030. The Minister's address will be followed by a moderated Q&A session with the audience.

Development Matters is a well-established IIEA lecture series, now in its 12th year, sponsored by Irish Aid, which explores critical issues in international development. The Development Matters series provides a unique opportunity for Irish stakeholders to both engage in critical discussion of the international development agenda with global leaders in the field and communicate their priorities in development practices to the public. The 2023 programme will feature eight events, taking place both in-person and in hybrid format. All events in the Development Matters series are open to the public and free to attend.

Light refreshments will be served in advance of the event with Minister Fleming, and there will be a valuable opportunity to network with colleagues working in the development sector.
