Beyond AI for Development: Power, Livelihoods and African Futures

This webinar moves beyond the question of what AI can do for development to examine what AI is doing to development, livelihoods and everyday life across Africa. Bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives on AI governance, digital economies, development practice, media, gender and lived experience, the discussion will explore questions of knowledge, labour, inequality, power and Africa’s technological futures.

Research Symposium on Irish-Funded Development Research

DSAI’s current webinar series showcases collaborative, evidence-based development research supported through Irish funding. The series began in September 2025 with a pilot webinar highlighting Irish-funded research projects in Malawi, followed in May 2026 by a session focused on projects addressing SDG 13: Climate Action. In September 2026, the series continued with a webinar exploring research related to SDG 2: Zero Hunger.
