Misean Cara event: Crossing Boundaries and Development: An Exploration of Missionary and Faith-based Approaches

-

You are invited to an event hosted by Misean Cara on: Crossing Boundaries and Development: An Exploration of Missionary and Faith-based Approaches

Join us for a public learning event exploring missionary and faith-based approaches to development. National and international speakers include Rick Van Der Woud from Mensen Met Een Missie in the Netherlands, Caitriona Dejean from Tearfund in the UK, Sr. Kate Nolan from the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, and Seamus O’Leary from Misean Cara.

In recent years Misean Cara has been exploring what is distinctive about how missionary, faith-based actors approach development. A conceptual framework is beginning to emerge from these discussions. We would now like to share our reflections more broadly to advance the exploration further. We have put together a panel of speakers who have a strong interest in the topic, and a lot to say about it. Join us on 31 May to hear some of the latest thinking on this highly relevant aspect of development practice. We will reflect on the approaches missionaries and faith-based actors take when engaging in development, learn from a number of different perspectives and experiences, and explore implications for wider development practice. Find out more and register.
