Issued on

Call for Contributions – 3rd Annual DSAI Postgraduate Workshop Development Studies Association Ireland (DSAI) Host institution: Kimmage DSC,13-14 June 2013

Now in its third year*, the Development Studies Association of Ireland (DSAI), with support from the UCD School of Social Justice and Kimmage DSC, is pleased to announce the annual two day postgraduate workshop to be held in Kimmage DSC from 13-14 June 2013. This workshop aims to provide a friendly environment in which postgraduate students can present their research, develop contacts with other researchers and openly discuss and learn from each other’s experiences.

The workshop is aimed at supporting research students working in the broad field of development studies. This might include issues of equality, human rights, migrants’ rights, health, trade, food security or conflict, highlighting the interconnections between these and other issues across local, regional and global contexts.

The workshop aims to provide an accommodating venue for current and recently finished postgraduate students, with participants coming together around shared interests, challenges and experiences of doing research. Researchers at the early to late stages of their projects will be able to benefit from engaging with peers and more experienced researchers, while people starting out or thinking of starting a postgraduate research project are equally welcome to apply.

Applications are invited from students at all stages of their postgraduate research, as well as those thinking of starting or who have recently finished studies. More specific details on the aims, objectives, and activities of the workshop are included in the application form, which can be downloaded from here. More detailed information will be sent to participants once applications and expressions of interest have been received.

The deadline for applications is 20 May 2013, though earlier submissions are encouraged
