STAND-Global-Issues-Logo-RESIZED

STAND’s upcoming online Global Issues Course is a part-time evening course that focuses on the interdependent and unequal world in which we live, through a process of interactive learning, debate, action and reflection.

Course details:

Time: 2 hours per week for 6 weeks

Date: Various dates and deadlines starting February 2021, see more info here

Location: Online via Zoom

Cost: 25 euro

A bit more about the course:

We all want to live in a fairer and more just society, but when the world’s eight richest people control the same wealth between them as the poorest half of the world’s population, it can be hard to know where to start to tackle inequality.

These interactive evenings will deepen  understanding of issues related to development and globalisation, introduce participants to like-minded, passionate peers, and ultimately help them to understand themselves and their role in bringing about change.

Each week students will cover one topic, and learn how to take action on it.

Week 1: Introduction to development

Week 2: Migration

Week 3  International Trade & Livelihoods

Week 4: Global Health

Week 5: Environment

Week 6: Taking the Next Steps

STAND celebrates the power of ordinary people to change the world. With us, third level students in Ireland can share ideas about standing up for justice and equality, learn more about global issues, and find out what you can do to take positive action.
