We are delighted to announce that Bristol University Press will be publishing the first book to look at the effects of COVID-19 in the Global South in association with DSA Ireland.

The publication COVID-19 in the Global South - Impacts and Responses  brings together a range of experts across various sectors, to explore some of the key issues that have arisen in the Global South with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The publication is delivered as part of DSAI's wider response to COVID-19 and under the over-arching focus on 'The Impact of COVID-19 on the Global South' initiated earlier this year as globally the pandemic began to unfold. DSAI initiated an ongoing Call for Opinion Pieces, set up a COVID-19 Resource space and delivered webinars as part of a dedicated effort towards pooling and sharing knowledge, experience and expertise about the impact of COVID-19 on the developing world, approaches to contain it and offset its impacts. It was from this early activity that the opportunity to deepen and disseminate the dialogue in association with Bristol University Press through a Rapid Response publication emerged.

DSAI Chair and co-editor Pádraig Carmody said;

"DSAI are deeply grateful to Bristol University Press for their collaboration and support for making this happen. Their ‘Rapid Response’ publishing format is an important vehicle for making research on this topic available to a wide audience as quickly as possible."

The publication will be available in September 2020 from Bristol University Press website here.

DSAI continue to welcome submissions to our call for Opinion Pieces to be published in our COVID-19 Resource section. Read more here.
